We have just reviewed The Generals Arms at Little Baddow near to Danbury. This is a lovely pub serving pub food. Inside it is huge, with small seating areas and open plan areas. It is light and bright with French windows opening on to a paved patio area with a few tables. It has seats suitable for children 7 months+. Bottle and food warming. For children is a fun Twist sweet machine.Outside is a huge clean garden with a children's wooden playing frame and a separate area for football. There are wendy houses and plenty of places for children to hide and play. There is a huge amount of outdoor tables and chairs. The food for both adults and children is wonderful, the children's menu is £4.95 and covers fish to pasta and includes an ice cream to finish. The adult's menu covers starters and main courses, and the dessert board is mouthwatering. Filtered coffee and herbal teas. The Generals Arms opens from 12 noon and serves food 12 - 9pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and between 12 - 3pm and 6 - 9pm on Mon - Thurs. It is ideal as a stop on a walk in the area or for a visit to Danbury or Maldon. It's also ideal for families looking for a lovely pub meal in the early evenings. It gets very busy on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays so it is very advisable to call ahead. Very friendly owners ! Highly recommended.
